For this project, I was tasked to find and share examples of security/cyber-security events that were reported by the media and share what I had learned and analyzed from my source.
From this module, I have learned many new ways how to Identify common cyber attacks. I also learned new ways to prevent cyber attacks, so I can make sure I can also stay safe. And I had learn a new way to search for articles using google's news search engine.

Ransomware is a malicious software that is designed to block access to a computer system until a sum of money is paid. Large key infrastructures such as hospitals and its third-party providers are big targets, if a group gets their hands on its system, it will cause the lives of many people. Only use trusted links and emails to prevent attacks, Use strong, and unique passwords for online accounts, and Enable two-factor authentication to add an extra layer of security for your systems.

This article shares how a suspected group of Russia hackers carried out a cyber-attack on a water facility in Texas and caused a tank to overflow. Hacking means when an individual or group, breaks their way into a system and gains unauthorized access to data in a system or computer. Infrastructures such as water supplies play a big role for the community, so if their way of getting fresh water breaks, will cause big problems for the people. Some ways that will help prevent this from happening are having a secure system/data base, and up to dated security settings.
