Ice Man

A few years ago I decided to help a Christian acquaintance of mine. Terry Hughes is known to many as the Ice Man. He is a brilliant glaciologist and retired University of Maine professor. I came to know and respect him because of his pro life advocacy. While teaching at UMO he would stand with a pro life sign at the Student Union every Wednesday. He was also one of a small number of elite front line pro life warriors in Maine, until he moved to his retirement home in North Dakota.

Terry wrote an autobiography that was only available as a printed book. It was expensive. I couldn't afford it. I asked him for permission to turn his MS WORD files into Google Document pages. He was eager to make his story public.

I know that the better format for his book is as an e-book. I don't know how to create those. I wanted to see if it could be done using the powers of Google Drive/Docs.

So ... here is what I was able to produce. Enjoy.

Americans for Truth about Homosexuality

Peter LaBarbera became a good friend thirty years ago when he was working for the Family Research Council. We support him every month and have done quite a bit of work on this website. My son continues our support through his business, Althatech. The AFTAH website is one of the best online resources for journalism regarding the sodomy issue. Last Days Watchman

The Old Testament prophet Isaiah wrote, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. “All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish. Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them. Those who wage war against you will be as nothing at all. For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you." I have met very few men in my life who surpass Julio Severo in courage. He is, to me, the modern embodiment of the principle in this verse from Isaiah. It is an honor to support him in his frequent blogging for the truths of Christianity. MassResistance

There are very few people on planet earth who have demonstrated more constancy in resisting the "gay" onslaught. Brian is the most insightful and relentless political activist I know on the sodomy issue. We have done many different things over the years to support MassResistance. The highest honor of my life came as a result of attempting another referendum against this uncommonly insensible evil. The infamous Southern Poverty Law Center listed me as an official "hater" because of my ties to Brian. Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!!

Coach Dave Daubenmire

In the closing years of my time with the Christian Civic League of Maine I met Coach Dave. He walked away from a successful football coaching career after being sued for praying with his football team. He is witty, brilliant, fearless and confrontational. I helped him start a live youtube show. He's a one man Christian content creation tsunami! I gladly handed off the design, production and maintenance of his online presence to my son, Jared, who helps him through his business, Althatech. We continue to pray for, and support, the Coach in every way we can.
