Overview

I have experience teaching classes in linguistics as well as English language (TESOL), working with students representing a diverse range of ages and backgrounds. At Zhejiang Normal University (China) between 2009-2018, I taught English language classes primarily for undergraduate students, but also worked with preschool, middle school, and adult learners.  I also taught linguistics courses for MA-level students, which included mentoring them through the process of writing original research papers at the end of each term.

At UCSB, I have served as teaching assistant or instructor of record for many of the core classes in the linguistics major, as well as lower-division classes that meet general-education requirements. I also served as a teaching fellow for the Foundations in the Humanities correspondence course in English literature for students incarcerated in California state prisons. See below for details.
