About Me
About Me
I have joked about being the world's oldest intern (at age 63) and that I am still trying to figure out what I want to do when I "grow up". I have led an amazing life working in Oklahoma, Alaska, Michigan, and Wyoming during a career with the electric cooperative industry that spanned 40 years. I started my original professional career with a BS in electrical engineering and eventually completed an MBA with Ken Blanchard at Grand Canyon University as part of my desire to be a life long learner. All my life I have had a passion for helping to make things better, and this passion led to developing and coaching employees to all levels of leadership.
I decided to repot (instead of retire) myself and begin my second mountain which landed me on a journey to become a licensed professional counselor. I had a hard time thinking in terms of retirement. Over my first working career, when we retired a power plant and other equipment we tore it down and sent it to be salvaged. The idea of repotting, or finding a new container for my life, has been quite an effort and a exciting journey.
I may be a new counselor, but I bring 63 years of life experience including several stints at the "school of hard knocks". I bring this life experience, formal education and a stance of unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness as I work with clients to help them on their own journey as they explore, create, and live their best possible life.
