As Senior 3D Artist at LucasArts, I was entrusted with the final pass on all assets for Star Wars Battlefront. The models were created at Brisbane’s Pandemic Studios, but to meet the high standards required for such a large-scale multiplayer game, I needed to rework and optimize each one, often making significant changes for better performance and smoother gameplay. This meant refining textures, optimizing polygons, and ensuring every model met the technical specifications essential for a seamless multiplayer experience.
At some point, I worked on nearly every model in the game, from character assets to vehicles and environmental details. This kind of behind-the-scenes work often goes unnoticed, but it’s crucial for a successful game launch. Every subtle tweak and optimization helps the game run more efficiently, making a direct impact on player experience and the game’s overall success.
