For Shadowgun Legends, I was brought on by Madfinger Games in the vibrant city of Brno to create several levels in Unity Engine. One of my main contributions was designing an extensive factory level. The factory’s scale initially exceeded what mobile devices could handle, so it was split into several smaller sections, allowing parts of it to be used across different levels. It was a mistake.
Shadowgun Legends is an action-packed first-person shooter developed by Madfinger Games, blending MMO elements with immersive gameplay. Released in 2018, this game invites players into a vibrant universe where they assume the role of elite mercenaries known as Shadowguns, tasked with defending humanity against a formidable alien threat called the Torment.
In Shadowgun Legends, players create their unique characters and explore a central hub that serves as a base for missions. The game features a rich array of gameplay options, including story missions that advance the plot, side quests that offer additional challenges, and cooperative dungeons designed for teamplay. Each mission is crafted to provide quick yet engaging experiences, often lasting just a few minutes, making it ideal for mobile gaming.
The multiplayer aspect is particularly noteworthy, offering various modes such as PvP duels and team battles. Players can customize their characters extensively, acquiring new gear and weapons as they progress through the game. This level of personalization enhances the overall experience, allowing players to showcase their unique styles.
Having contributed to the game's development at Madfinger's studio in Brno, I had the opportunity to help shape some of the levels within this dynamic environment. The combination of stunning graphics and fluid gameplay mechanics positions Shadowgun Legends as one of the standout mobile shooters in its genre, appealing to both casual gamers and dedicated fans alike. Whether you're diving into intense battles or exploring the lore-rich world, Shadowgun Legends offers an exhilarating gaming experience that keeps players coming back for more. Brno is a great place and Madfinger game is one studio that has a REAL culture, not a studio that says it has. I loved working there.
