Harry Potter (2010 Wii)

What I did

I was brought in on contract as a 3D Artist to scale down the assets for this large PlayStation game so it could run on the Nintendo Wii, which had far more limited hardware. Every asset had to be optimized and reduced by about two-thirds. By the end of the process, the team at EA Guildford was so impressed with how well the visuals held up that they couldn’t tell the difference between the Wii and PlayStation versions. So, they decided to use the Wii models in the PlayStation release too, which helped boost its performance. My favourite level was London, especially recreating the vibrant scene around Piccadilly Circus. Three artists did this in three months. After this work, I went on a trip around Africa for a year.
