CREATING THE PERSONAL PROJECT
The project should encourage and enable advisees to fulfill the MICDS Mission to
sustain self-directed inquiry of interest over the course of the year
appreciate the process of learning and pursuing a genuine interest

Students should give careful consideration to their personal project and use a Process Journal to assist with the documenting process.
The student will create the journal in a format that suites their needs

Students are not limited to only responding to these prompts and do not have to respond to all of the prompts.
Students will include additional reflections, questions, ideas, sketches, photos, lists, graphic organizers, etc. while working on the project.
Journals should be brought each time they meet with their Advisor.
The Process Journal is to be used regularly as a place for planning and recording interactions with sources

The journal also serves as a useful place for receiving formative feedback from

In addition, these journal entries will help with the presentation at the end and pages can become digital to include in the presentation.
The journal can include

Students fill out the Personal Interest Quest form and share it with the Advisor.
Then, they choose 2 to 3 ideas.
