The Miami County Chapter owns 12 acres on the north side of Peru, Indiana. This was originally a Kickapoo Gravel extraction site. The purchase of the site in 1940 gave us a 12 acre plot containing a 7 acre lake.
Our Chapter House includes a full-service kitchen and great room.
The Funkhouser Trail is a one mile trail created by the Funkhouser Family. It was built to honor Richard Funkhouser, a long time member, who passed away May 29, 2010. The trail circles the lake and is maintained by members.
Our 7 acre lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish. As with many lakes it also has a population of carp and grass carp. We urge catch-and-release. For members who desire a fish dinner, limits along with additional rules are posted at the gates.
Boating is allowed with electric motors or old fashioned oars. We have a concrete boat ramp for easy launch and load. Boats may not be left unattended on the grounds.
There are sites available for primitive camping. Some have fire rings and picnic tables. We ask that campers check the fire hazard risk before building campfires.
What you bring in please carry out. There are no trashcans or dumpsters. If you find trash left by others please try to carry it out with you. We thank you very much for helping in keeping our place clean.
