Highlights for the girls included: Audrey Hannigan was a double winner in the 200 IM and 100 free, Grace Gilligan won the 1 meter diving, Georgia Pearson was 4th in the 500 and 3rd in the 100breast, Mckenzie Gezotis was 5th in the 200 free and 8th in the 100 fly, Molly Beston was 7th in the 200 free and 7th in the 100 back, Anaya Allen was 9th in the 200 free and 8th in the 500, Cara McDonough was 5th in the 200 IM and 7th in the 100 breast, Kora O'Donnell was 8th in the 200 IM and 10th in the 100 free, Addy Rhodes was 4th in the 50 free and 5th in the 100 back, Maggie McGonagle was 10th in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 fly, Rose Lydiard was 12th in the 50 free and 11th in the 500 free, Siena Oliver was 8th in the 100 breast and 11th in the 100 free and Claudia Richards was 10th in the 100 breast.
In addition to these point scorers, there were many best times and great races by the girls.
Highlights for the boys included a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke for Captain Aidan Parry who also finished 4th in the 200 IM, Sean Lawlor qualified for the South Sectional Championship meet in the 500 free by dropping 17 seconds for a 5:27.81 and also finished 6th in the 200 free dropping 3 seconds, Sam Frattasio was 7th in the 500 free dropping 10 seconds off his best and 9th in the 200 free, Jack Sorrento was 11th in the 500 with a personal best time and 13th in the 200 free, Gavin Russell was 8th in the 200 IM and 15th in the 100 free, Dean Gomes qualified for the South Sectional meet in the 100 free and placed 2nd and also was 4th in the 50 free, Hank Hartwell was 9th in the 50 free and 7th in the 100 free, Max Coakley finished 3rd in the 1 meter diving event and 9th in the 100 breast, Cameron Wong was 3rd in the 100 back 6th in the 100 butterfly, Connor Withers finished 12th in the 100 butterfly 14th in the 100 back, Seamus Healey was 10th in the 100 back and 16th in the 100 fly,Kirk Sundberg was 25th in the 50 free and 21st in the 100 free and Luke Peckham finshed 24th in the 50 free and 18th in the 100 back.
Girls South Sectional Results at MIT Sat 2/8
Girls finished 7th overall out of 43 teams at South Sectionals.
200 free relay and the 400 free relay teams (Mckenzie Gezotis, Addy Rhodes, Georgia Pearson and Audrey Hannigan) finished 4th with the 200 free relay dropping 5 seconds and the 400 free relay dropping 8 seconds!
200 medley relay team (Molly Beston, Siena Oliver, Maggie McGonagle and Kora O'Donnell) finished 13th out of the 20 teams competing.
Senior Audrey Hannigan finished 2nd in the 100 free, dropping over 1 second with a personal best time of 54.31 and was 4th in the 50 free dropping over 1.5 seconds for another personal best;
Senior Addison Rhodes finished 10th in the 50 free dropping 1/2 second for a best time and 14th in the 100 back with a personal best time that qualified her for the State D1 meet
Junior Georgia Pearson finished 12th in the 200 free with a best time of 2:07.80 and was 16th in the 100 breast with a D1 state qualifying time.
Boys South Sectional Results at MIT Sun, 2/9
Boys relay team (Cameron Wong, Aidan Parry, Dean Gomes and Hank Hartwell finished)
15th in the 200 free relay dropping almost a full second from their best time
16th in the 200 medley relay dropping just over a second to finish with a 1:47.59.
Individual swimmers included: captain Aidan Parry finishing 17th in the 200 IM dropping 3 seconds for a personal best time of 2:10.95 and he also finished 22nd in the 100 breast;
Captain Dean Gomes finished 28th in the 100 free
Sophomore Sean Lawlor finished 16th in the 500 free dropping 3 seconds for a personal best time;
Freshman Cameron Wong was 18th in the 100 back dropping .4 seconds for a personal best and finished 25th in the 100 fly with another time drop to 57.79.
Girls State Meet at BU Results Sat, 2/15
11th place finish out of the 43 teams attending at the D1 state meet!
We had a State Champion winner in the 100 Free with Audrey Hannigan taking first with a personal best time of 53..62 touching out the second place finisher by .14!
Audrey also finished 5th in the 50 free also with a personal best time of 24.84.
Georgia Pearson finished 16th in the 500 free, dropping 8 seconds for a best time of 5:35.77 and was also 22nd in the 100 breast with a 1:16.00.
Addison Rhodes finished 19th in the 50 free with a 26.29 and 22nd in the 100 back (she swam this immediately after competing in the 200 free relay).
Our relay teams did a great job dropping time after doing best times at the Sectional meet the week before!
17th Place finish for the 200 medley relay team (Molly Beston, Cara McDonough, Maggie McGonagle, Kora O'Donnell) dropping 3 seconds from the weekend before
7th place finish for the 400 free relay team (McKenzie Gezotis, Addy Rhodes, Georgia Pearson, Audrey Hannigan) finished with a best time of 3:50.57 dropping 2 seconds from sectionals
5th place finish 200 free relay team (Gezotis, Rhodes, Pearson, Hannigan) also dropped 1 second for a best time
