MHS SWIM AND DIVE SPLASH CLUB BY-LAWS
The previous bylaws of the MHS Splash Club adopted on 02/27/2018, are hereby repealed and replaced in their entirety by these new bylaws, effective immediately upon their adoption.
The organization shall be known as the MHS Swim & Dive Splash Club (MHSSDSC/ MHS Splash Club/ MHS Splash Boosters).
The MHSSDSC is organized exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. Its purpose is to support the MHS Swim and Dive team through communication, leading by example, fostering fairness, promoting teamwork, and ensuring continuous growth and prosperity of the program.
Membership in MHSSDSC shall be open to parents, guardians, or legal representatives of swimmers participating in the MHS Swim and Dive team. Members must uphold the club's objectives and abide by its bylaws.
The elected officers shall include a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and any other necessary positions. Officers shall be elected by a majority vote of the members present at the annual meeting and shall serve a term of 2 years or until their students no longer attend Marshfield High School, whichever extends for a longer duration. Duties of the officers shall be outlined in the Club's operational guidelines.
Regular meetings shall be held at the discretion of the officers. The annual meeting for officer elections and any other necessary business shall be held at the start of the high school swim season.. Special meetings may be called by the President or upon the request of the Club's members.
The fiscal year of MHSSDSC shall begin on January 1st and end on December 31st. Taxes will be filed annually.
Disbursements shall follow a budget approved by the board. Only the Treasurer and authorized cosigner are permitted to disburse funds, including checks, debit, or credit, that have been pre approved by the board. No individual is allowed access to the MHSSDSC account for any reason without the joint authorization of the Treasurer and authorized cosigner.
Funds from all MHSSDSC fundraisers support the swim team and are considered club funds.
Proposals to amend the bylaws may be made at any regular meeting and voted upon at the subsequent regular meeting for adoption.
Upon dissolution, all assets shall be distributed to another 501(c)(3) organization.
501(c)(3) status shall be updated and amended as necessary.
