Events
Intro
Student Council helps organize many school events. From Share Your Heart to the Pep Rally, Student Council is in! Here you can find photos and some information about each of our events. This page will be updated to let the MHS community know what we've been up to this year.
September
Freshman Tailgate
During September we had the return of our Freshman Tailgate, but this time outside! Student Council hosted the fun-filled event to kick off the new year in style and welcome the Freshmen to MHS. Freshmen who went to the tailgate also got free admission to the football game after!
Car Wash
Stuco hosted a car wash behind town hall! The car wash was donation-based. It was a massive success and will allow us to keep helping the Medfield community.
Walk Ons for classes of 2022, 2023, 2024
For students who were not elected the previous year, they have a chance to still be involved in the Stuco community. It involves answering a list of questions, and a brief interview with our Advisor.
Freshmen Student Council Elections and Walk Ons
Much like regular elections, the Freshman class will vote on the representatives they want, then the remaining applicants can follow the same process as the older grades.
October
StuCo alumni care packages
Student Council mailed care packages filled with candy and messages of positivity to our friends who graduated from the student council in the class of 2021.
Spirit Week
Stuco organized the Pep Rally Spirit week with themes ranging from grade colors day to costume day. To promote even more spirit, the person voted "most spirited" each day on the Medfield Fans Instagram account won a Blue Moon Gift Card!
Pep Rally
This year Stuco was able to bring Pep Rally back! Due to many restrictions, this years' event was very unique. We hosted an Olympic theme Pep Rally outdoors at the HS turf. We even managed to make an opening video for the entire school to watch before heading out to the turf (the video is posted here and on the Medfield TV youtube channel for all interested). The Pep Rally was super successful on the turf and many students and faculty had very positive feedback!
November
Can Drive
The MHS community collected and brought in cans to their FLEX classes to help Medfield families in need. At the end of the week, the council went to the food cupboard and helped sort all of the cans.
Faculty Thanksgiving Notes
Student Council wrote all of the faculty at our school personalized thank you notes to show them how much we care about them.
Powderpuff
Stuco organized the annual Powderpuff football game where the Seniors beat the Juniors in nail-biting fashion. The ticket to enter was at least one can for the can drive.
December
Officer Shop
The Eboard organized a workshop for the leaders of our school's clubs to build leadership and communication skills. We also broke off into smaller groups to discuss the individual roles of club leaders such as the president/secretary positions and tips to succeed in these roles.
Candy Canes
Stuco sold candy canes for 50 cents that you could send to your friends the week before winter break. All the proceeds went to the charity Bags of Hope.
Winter Spirit Week / Teacher on the Bleacher
The week before vacation was also a spirit week with themes ranging from whiteout to summer in December. All the while, the teacher on the bleacher competition saw our peers race to find 5 hidden teachers around the school. The first person to find all 5 teachers received a shoutout on the Medfield Fans Instagram account.
Hot Chocolate
Eboard gave out hot chocolate to all students in the cafeteria the day before winter break to wish everyone a happy vacation.
February
Share Your Heart
Student council is continuing the Share Your Heart Fundraiser to raise money for cancer research at Dana Farber. Hearts are available for 50 cents at lunch, and will be sent out to your friends on Valentine's Day (February 14th). Donations can also be made at the link below.
Nurse Appreciation Week
The Week before February vacation will be nurse appreciation week to thank our nurses for their hard work, especially during this tough year. Our gratitude will be expressed through acts such as complimentary coffee, flowers, and a thank you video spread throughout the week.
March
Eboard Info Meeting (3/14)
For those looking to be apart of the Student Council Executive Board, there is a MANDATORY meeting on Monday the 14th after school. You must be on student council to run.
Kindness Week! (3/28 - 4/1)
Join us by spreading positivity during our annual kindness week! From the compliment wall to the inclusion poster and the kindness chain, there are many ways keep the spirits up and show your appreciation for your peers!
April
Putting for Patients
Putting for Patients is an event held every year at MHS to raise money for the Jimmy Fund. This year, the event will take place out on the MHS turf as long as the sun still shines! At the event, there is an 18 hole mini golf course, and afterwards, there is face painting, caricaturist, food trucks, raffles, and more! The donation link doubles as a "sign up". Teams can consist of 2-4 people, where adults are $20 each, and children $15 each. Please make your payment/ donation on the site below. If you cannot attend, all donations are welcome! We are so excited to put this event on, once again. Please join us on Saturday, April 30th, 12PM - 3PM. Please note that the course will be taken down at 3:00 PM, so arrive no later than 2:15 to participate. Thank you!
