What is CTE?
CTE prepares students with technical, academic, and employability skills for success in the workplace and in future education. CTE prepares students for high-wage, high-skill, high-demand, and meaningful careers.
What are the objectives of CTE?
The primary objectives for Michigan Great Lakes Virtual Academy’s (MGLVA) Career and Technical Education Programs are to…
🔹Give students the specific skills needed for job-entry positions and broad transferable skills, allowing students further employment/education flexibility.
🔹 Create an awareness of the structure and future trends within high-demand, high-skill, and high-wage industries to increase each student’s options for career
choices as well as providing a foundation for post-secondary education.
🔹 Provide students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and participate in leadership activities including Career & Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs).
🔹Provide students with the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certifications.
🔹Provide students with the opportunity to earn college credit.
🔹Provide both school and work-based learning experiences.
🔹Bridge the gap between education and the world of work.
