Specialties: Infections Diseases & Primary Care
Dr. Madhavan grew up in Alexandria/Fairfax County, VA and graduated from Harvard College, working in an ID lab at MGH for her senior thesis. After medical school at UVA, she was happy to come back to her second home in Boston, completing her pediatric residency and chief residency at MGHfC. She then crossed town for pediatric infectious disease fellowship at Boston Children’s, also completing the Harvard pediatric health services research fellowship and an MPH in her last two years, focusing on vaccine uptake rates in diverse populations. After training, she has had multiple roles including medical director of inpatient pediatrics, residency site director, and clerkship site director (all at NSMC, now MGB Salem Hospital); pediatric hospital medicine attending at MGH; and ambulatory pediatrics Epic co-lead. Dr. Madhavan is currently the clinical director of pediatric ID and director of the pediatric advanced clerkship and clinical capstone at MGH as well as a primary care pediatrician. She is a member of multiple hospital, regional, and national society committees. Academic interests include tuberculosis, telehealth, COVID-19, childhood vaccinations, community education, and UME. Her husband is also a proud MGHfC alumnus who works in private practice; they enjoy watching childhood/tween development in action at home with their two sons.
