Dr. Carroll is on faculty with the Divisions of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Global Health at the MassGeneral Hospital for Children.  He serves as the Director of Global Pediatric Critical Care and is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School.  In addition to providing clinical coverage and active teaching in the Pediatric ICU, his academic pursuits include building medical and research capacity in low-resource settings (LRS); developing appropriate medical technologies for the critical care space, domestically and in LRS; generating curricula in global pediatric critical care medicine; and acting as the resident PICU rotation director.  His global health pursuits have involved translational research in the pathophysiology of cerebral malaria, capacity-building, and appropriate medical technology development in locations including Malawi, Uganda, India, Lebanon, and Liberia.
