Subspecialty: Emergency Medicine
Dr Pooja Rutberg grew up in New Delhi, India, and moved to the US for undergrad at Swarthmore College. She completed her medical school and pediatric residency in New York City at Weill Cornell Medical School/New York Presbyterian Hospital. After graduating from residency she followed her husband to Boston for his grad school in engineering, and 10 years later they still enjoy calling Boston home. She splits her clinical time between primary care pediatrics, newborn medicine, and refugee health assessments at Cambridge Health Alliance, a mission-driven institution. She is involved in graduate and undergraduate medical education in various ways, including as the Pediatric Residency Site Director at CHA for the MGfC Pediatric Residency. Much of her teaching focuses on reflective practice, professional identity formation, physician well being and resilience. Since her undergraduate days at Swarthmore she has worked on integrating the arts, humanities and sciences, and recently was an inaugural design fellow at the Harvard Macy Art - Museum based Health Professions Education fellowship. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, and 7yo and 5yo boys, as well as her 9mo baby who has just started crawling!
