Subspecialty: Hospitalist; Pediatric Emergency Medicine
Dr. Schwartz grew up in Marblehead, MA and attended the University of Pennsylvania for his undergraduate degree. He spent two years doing medical research in the Bay Area and the Netherlands before attending medical school at the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Schwartz subsequently completed his Pediatrics residency at Massachusetts General Hospital followed by a fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center and one year of clinical fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Brown University. He is thrilled to be back home at MGH as a combined pediatric hospitalist and pediatric emergency medicine attending. He continues to travel to Uganda three times yearly to work with his child sponsorship and leadership development non-governmental organization and conduct clinical research and care improvement projects there. His primary research interests are in global health education and the expansion of pediatric oncology services in sub-saharan Africa. He enjoys, among other things, playing the guitar and travel abroad.
