Subspecialty: Pediatric Infectious Disease & Primary Care
Dr. Annie Murray was born in Aliceville, Alabama but spent most of her childhood growing up in Blandford, a small town in western Massachusetts. Dr. Murray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at Brown University in 2005. During her undergraduate studies she worked in a research lab at Rhode Island Hospital. The year after graduation, she taught high school chemistry and coached high school Ultimate Frisbee and water polo. She then attended medical school at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA and graduated in 2010. Dr. Murray then completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at MGHfC from 2010-2014. She then completed pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital from 2014-2017. She also completed a fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality at Harvard Medical school and earned a Masters of Public Health degree at Harvard School of Public Health in May 2017, focusing her research on vaccination delivery in high risk pediatric populations. She was thrilled to returned to MGHfC in July 2017 as faculty and works clinically in pediatric infectious diseases and primary care. Her academic interests include childhood vaccinations, pediatric infectious diseases, infections in the immunocompromised host, patient safety and quality improvement and medical education. She is the Associate director of the HMS Pediatric Core Clerkship at MGHfC. Outside of MGHfC, Dr. Murray enjoys exploring the world with her husband Mike and young daughter Madelyn.
