Amita Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma grew up and finished her medical school in New Delhi, India. Working at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), her focus of research was  nephrotic syndrome. She completed her Pediatric Nephrology fellowship (1999) at University of Miami and Pediatric residency (2002) at Miami Children’s Hospital. Dr. Sharma has been on faculty at MGH for Children for last 15 years. In addition to being the course director for Harvard Medical School Pediatric Nephrology clerkship, she is involved in patient care, optimizing clinic operations, quality improvement and research. Her research interests include pseudohypoparathyroidism, kidney stones, atypical HUS, and other complement mediated diseases. In her free time, she enjoys watching Bollywood movies and reading about different cultures.
