Our Team

Marlins Go Green strives for overall efficiency, even within our crew. In order to maximize our own efficiency, our team is divided into several groups: Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Human Resources, that work together to achieve our common goals.

These groups do not define the work done by each member of Marlins Go Green, as we operate with a more fluid structure. Instead they work to provide stability during times of increased workloads and planning, utilizing each individual's strengths so that all necessary work can be completed effectively. Further information about the focuses of these groups are explained below.

Finance

The Finance team is responsible for the monitoring and allocation of all club funds. As a member of the Marlins Go Green Finance division, you may develop fundraisers, monitor sales, create active cost-benefit analyses of proposed projects, and work with the Virginia Wesleyan University Business Office to handle all club funds. These positions are relatively calculation intensive, and are best fit for those with interest in financial management, business, or any general mathematics orientation. The Finance team does not require these prerequisites, however, and will gladly accept anyone with interest.

The Finance division is led by Skyler Lattuca, who can be contacted at slattuca@vwu.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Human Resources

Our Human Resources team is dedicated to maintaining and building relationships with our current and future partners. They will act as liaisons between the Marlins Go Green team and anyone that we work with to ensure that both party's goals are being met. Generally, this team will find themselves organizing and approving any events that we are planning with Student Activities and any other organization involved. Ideal members of HR are passionate, social, and organized, as it is their job to successfully communicate our mission any potential partners in a clear and concise manner.

The Human Resources division is led by Ezekiel Herrera-Bevan, who can be contacted at ejherrerabevan@vwu.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Marketing

The Marketing team is responsible for all general advertising of the club. This includes, but is not limited to: poster design, website updates, logo and product design, community outreach, promotional material, and control of all social media accounts. Careers in marketing would be best fit for anyone interested in graphic design or digital art, as well as for those interested in photography, journalism, and community outreach.

The Marketing team is led by Sophie Gonzales, who can be contacted at smgonzales@vwu.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.

Operations

The Operations team is responsible for the structure of any event or project that is being done. In our case, this will mostly include doing research necessary to complete a project or planning out the intricate details and layouts of events. Essentially, MGG as a whole will present a vision of what our goal is, and the Operations team will out the specific steps for how to get there. Due to the various situations that Ops will encounter, Marlins Go Green would like to create a diverse team that will be ready to handle any obstacles. Those interested should be hard-working, detail oriented, and able to think on their feet.

The Operations team is led by Ashanti Kincannon who can be contacted at alkincannon@vwu.edu with any questions, comments, or concerns.
