Once a design has emerged - it needs to be shown around. In the past this would have been a local exhibition. In the connected world things are done differently. You can put it on your Instagram, fb, website (wix or Weebly are good places to start). Then you need to get people to come there to see your work. In the old days we made cards, called people, sent out emails. In the connected world you send out press releases to all the top design sites globally, plus local media and any other place that contains a community you want visiting your site.
