Excursion Reflections

The Bike Tour was excused because of issues with me riding the bike. Rob gave me permission to not do the assignment.

I thought Olympic Park was interesting because of how they made the park from rubble from World War 2. It was also fascinating to me how it was used for the Olympics in 1972 and how the architecture from that time still feels very modern. It was a very abstract design that was simple but very cool to look at. I also love that they made it accessible for everyone to use for free. The monuments there to dedicated the Israeli athletes that were killed were also interesting cause you have a small one and a big one. You realize the political controversy with that as people felt the small one wasn't good recognition of the lives lost which puts into perspective just how much people can affect the change we see today. I felt that the park was important for our lessons because it shows that it was designed to be used by all in a sustainable way. It was very well maintained and still being built and improved to help with keeping its sustainability. It had activities for everyone to enjoy and at no charge! They also had student housing on site which allows for students to have good access and be able to do things they want to do not far from where they live.

I thought the farm was really interesting cause they have so many efficient things that help the environment. They are all about keeping things sustainable and giving the animals a good life. They don't use drugs or antibiotics on the animals and want them to live a good full life. The farm was very organized and planned out very well and gave us a new perspective on how farms treat other animals compared to this one. This taught us how you can raise animals and do it in a sustainable way without causing harm to anyone even the animals. It also gave us a new outlook on how these ideas can be used to create a new sustainable world.
