I'm making an app for Android and in it's core it has a metronome.I need to produce sounds precisly in beat. And every 2nd sound is delayed for "swing" percentage of interval. My current code looks like this:

Metronomes are incredibly important in music. Musicians use them to keep time during practice and many drummers use them during live shows to keep time better. There is a lot that goes into a good metronome. You need to be able to customize it. It should probably also a visual element and not just an audio cue. Finally, it should be reasonably easy to use. Luckily, there are an absolute ton of reasonably good metronome apps for mobile phones. Here are the best metronome apps for Android that we could find.

Fender Guitar Tuner is another app that kills two birds with one stone. This one acts primarily as an instrument tuning app. However, it also has some good, basic metronome features. The tuning mode comes with an auto tuner that utilizes your microphone or a manual tuner where you can tune by ear. It also has a chromatic mode, preset tunings, and custom tunings. The metronome side is pretty basic. The app includes 65 drum tracks across a variety of genres for easy practice. The metronome mode has a bunch of options, but nothing too fancy. We recommend this one for people who just need a simple metronome and also want a tuner as well.

Thanks for the response. My Metronome window does not look like yours. I am using an Android Tablet. What device are you using?

I have learned that MY metronome window controls the characteristics of the BEAT that I establish when I add a new song. I am getting by now. I make a BEAT track with simple drums, that I throw away when I am finished recording my vocals and instruments.

Thanks for the reply.

Pro Metronome offers users, especially musicians, a constellation of features that lets them make the most of their practice sessions. It is a powerful tool, yet simple to use, making it an ideal choice for the on-the-go lifestyle. Apart from providing the standard functionalities you can find in an actual metronome, the app boasts advanced features that can give you flexibility when practicing.

For musicians and performers, mastering their timing and ability to stick to a regular pulse is of prime importance. The free tool provides not only the advantages of practicing with a traditional metronome, but also a different level of efficiency and convenience. It comes with a time signature interface where you can directly keep track of your timing in 13 styles, plus a counting voice.

Handy and effective, Pro Metronome is one of the tools that musicians and performers cannot afford to exclude from their collections. The app's compact design and innovative features are enough reasons for you not to miss a training day wherever you are. Despite its overall reliability, it is not recommended to do away with an actual metronome, since the app has a history of occasional freezing on some devices.

I started making a metronome app way back in 2019, using UE4, but abandoned it once I discovered that the difficulties with audio latency for Android were still a big obstacle.

However, about 6 months ago I decided to give it another shot. I didn't want all the bloat of UE, so decided to use Godot instead.

I have just released the app onto the google play store. For the moment it is a paid app with the intention of making a free, ad supported version soon. (once I figure that out).

I would like to thank the community for all the ideas I tried and tested whilst figuring out how it could be done. There were a few approaches that would have worked for a basic metronome but I wanted to add a few features that I personally would find useful when playing along to it.

Retronome features:

40-208 BPM

Selectable by moving the weight on the rod or by using the +/- buttons

Accent beat

Accent the first beat up to a maximum value of 36 (basically a 1 up to 36 beat loop with the first beat accented)

Half & Triplet Beats

Enable beats in between beats with this feature. For example : You can get a create a nice swing beat by slowing the BPM and adding triplets.

Flash

Enable the flash feature so you can see when the beat is happening as well as hear it. The flash colour and brightness can be adjusted to your preference.

Zoom

Zoom the metronome in and out using pinch zoom or by using the zoom buttons at the top of the screen.

If the metronome is zoomed below 75%, another set of controls appears so you can still comfortably use all the features.

Swipe to start

Simply swipe over the rod (left to right or right to left) to start the metronome. You can also stop it by putting your finger in the path of the moving rod.

Four different sounds

Choose from Retro tick sounds, digital 'blips', wood blocks or realistic drum sounds. The high quality drum samples sound even better when your device is plugged into a speaker.

Introducing SpeakBeat Metronome: the voice metronome that counts for you! Fully customizable and with tons of studio-recorded high quality voices to choose from, SpeakBeat Metronome will count "one two three four" (and more!) all day long, never getting tired and never missing a beat.

SpeakBeat was the first metronome app with voice counting (also known as a "voice metronome" or a "metronome that counts") and was created to be the most accurate metronome on the iOS App Store. It can help when you read sheet music, practice tricky rhythms, or just need a sense of time (yes, it still has a click track!).

The number of bars are adjustable to help you play any kind of music. Although SpeakBeat is a free metronome app, it packs in the features of a pro metronome. By downloading the app for your iPhone or iPad device, you will be able to keep both rhythm and time, helping you develop from a student to a pro. Sample a wide range of features for free and buy a couple in-app purchases if you want to customize the app even more.

Picking the best metronome app can be a little difficult since the only way to test out an app is to buy it. Most only cost a few dollars, but that can add up pretty quickly given the number of apps that are available.

I am looking for an android metronome that will pick up the tempo from music in the room and tell me what the meter is. So a member of the band can play a bit of a song and I can get the tempo from it. Any of those mentioned do that? Thanks.

We all know a lot of good metronomes for the iOS or Android-Plattform. But on the Windows / Windows Phone it was hard to find an accurate and easy to use metronome-app. This is why i built my own metronome: HQ Metronome!

Its available in the Windows Store for WindowsPhone 8.1 / Windows 10 / Windows 10 mobile!

For feature-suggestions, feel free to mail me ([email protected])

A new iOS metronome app called FlexBeat can go beyond most metronome limits because you can enter note values in just about any metric combination and set the note value for the tempo. You can program a specific piece containing multiple meters, save it and share it with others who have the same app. See the video demo on their support website.

Smart Metronome includes all the functions one would expect from a classic metronome, but can also listen to the input audio and determine the tempo. This way, you can quickly identify the tempo used for any song, or make sure you are keeping the correct timing while playing.

Our metronome timer can help us with this. If you complete your swing at a metronome rate of 60bpm or greater then you're in their "Fast" category, if you complete your swing faster than a beat of 48bpm but slower than 60bpm then you are their "Moderate" and any slower than that you are "Deliberate".

This can help you with unassisted shaft fitting or at least give you a start (though I'd always recommend a proper fitting).

The Metronome is an app developed by Soundbrenner for beginner and professional musicians. This is an intuitive free metronome application for iOS and Android devices full of features and great accuracy.

Music Stand for Android just got a handful of great new features to make it even more powerful. We've added a full-featured metronome to help you stay on tempo, and added looping to the audio player to help you perfect that tricky section while you're rehearsing.

PCO Services has let you store the tempo in beats per minute for a long time, and now Music Stand for Android can take advantage of that. Tap the metronome button in the toolbar to get started. You'll see controls on the left, and options on the right. If an editor has already entered the BPM online, it will be set for you in Music Stand and will change as you change songs, even while it's playing.

To change the tempo, tap it in the toolbar to open up the full metronome view. From there you can tap out a new tempo, or turn the dial to set your speed. The dial is speed-sensitive (how appropriate), so turn it fast for big adjustments, and slow for fine tuning. After changing the tempo or meter, you'll have the option to reset it to the saved value, or if you have editor permissions, you'll be able to save it back to the song arrangement.Tap the volume icon from the full metronome to change the sound settings. From there you can adjust the relative volume of the metronome and the audio player. You can also choose other sound sets for the main metronome sound or turn off accent downbeats to have one steady sound. At slower tempos, you might use the 2x button to double the tempo, or the 16ths button to add a shaker between the regular beats. When you play the metronome, the dots in the toolbar flash to the beat. If you'd like to be able to see the beat more prominently, hit the flash icon and the whole toolbar will flash to the beat. 2351a5e196
