Expanded & permitted in 2019, the Viewing Platform at the Heron Rookery allows Trail users a stunning, picturesque scene of the wetlands that numerous wildlife call home- especially the nesting herons lining the horizon.
The Great Blue Heron is the largest in North America and is often referred to as a "crane." They inhabit wetlands such as marshes, swamps, shores, and tide flats and nest in trees or shrubs near the water.
