The Methuen Rail Trail Alliance (MRTA) is a nonprofit all - volunteer group, dedicated to the maintence and improvement of the Rail Trail in Methuen, MA. Organized in 2009, the MRTA has worked with the City of Methuen to develop and construct the 2.4-mile Trail which connects with the Spicket River Greenway in Lawrence and the Bike-Ped Corridor in Salem, NH.
The Trail is a great recreational, transportation, and economic asset to the City of Methuen and it is our goal to promote its use and to continue to push for future developments and improvements.
The MRTA and community volunteers maintain and clean the Trail, organize local FREE family events, and work to acquire grants and other donations to make the Trail better and more accessible.
