Activities of the department.

• The department uses ICT extensively for pedogogical purposes.
• The department maintains a website where learning resourses are posted.
• Elaborate Laboratory manual are prepared by the department.
• The department conducts Remedial Classes for the slow learners.
• Since 1986 the department has been training students to take up the National Graduate Examination in Physics conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers(IAPT).
• Physics Lecture,Quiz, Poster Presentation competrtions are conducted for the students.

Research Areas

The department has a Research Advisory Committee having distinguished expert members on it.There are two active research groups in the department in the area of Material Science and Physics Education Research. In addition students are encouraged to take up projects under the mentorship of the faculty members.
