About Me

I am from a small village in Kulai, Johor. After completing my degree in Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Biotechnology) at University Sains Malaysia in 2019, now I am pursuing a mixed-mode master degree programme, Master in Science (Molecular Medicine) at Institute for Research in Molecular Medicine (INFORMM) within the same university. As a research apprentice during industrial training at INFORMM, USM, under my degree programme, I learned the techniques of cancer cell culture and this internship had boosted up my skills on handling experiments. Besides, it also nurtured my interest in research and had driven me to pursue the mixed-mode master degree for an additional research opportunity. My degree final year project was to evaluate the controlled release of pheromone compound that encapsulated in cellulose nanocrystals-alginate hydrogel film and tested it on housefly. From the project, I gained knowledge on oil encapsulation and acid hydrolysis extraction related work. Moreover, the housefly breeding processes also gave me a remarkable experience when I handled insect culture work. Currently, I am doing recombinant protein expression and systematic refolding method development for protein epidermal growth factor. Undoubtedly, there is room for myself to improve and explore other essential technical research skills. I feel absolutely grateful to be one of the members in this team.
