How do I hire a bike from Mersea Island Bike Hire? Down load the Linka Go app, enter your details and the app will show you how many bikes are in the different locations.

Where do I pick up and drop off the bikes?  Pick up and drop off is from Mersea island Water Sports, before 17:00, or the White Hart. When you finish with your bike please remember to finish your ride otherwise you may still be charged. More pickup and drop off points will be added in the future, if you are reading this and are based on Mersea and would like to be considered for this then please contact me via the Mersea Island Bike Hire facebook page.

When and what do I get charged? You only get charged if you open a bike lock to start a hire (not for downloading the app).  When you start the hire there is a £1 unlocking fee and then £0.15 per minute afterwards. As an example 2 hours would cost £18.85. 

Is there a deposit? There is no deposit, there is a block on £20 when unlocking a bike but only the amount used is billed, if less than £20 is used then less than £20 will be billed. As per the terms and conditions if the bike is lost or stolen then charges may apply.

Can I stop the ride to get off and explore an area? Yes, you can get off and lock the bike, no one else can hire that bike until you have finished your hire. So you can explore and come back to your bike and proceed on with your adventure.
