Optics11 Life is a life science instrumentation company that offers unique tools for advancements in drug development, regenerative medicine, and biomaterial development. We focus on providing robust, high throughput mechanobiology measurements in near-physiological conditions, integrated in the biological workflow.

Mechanobiology studies the impact of forces on cells and tissues, in healthy and diseased conditions. Having the ability to measure the mechanical properties of cells, 3D tissues, and biomaterials enables key innovations and improvements in in-vitro modelling, tissue engineering, biomaterial development and quality control.

The proprietary fiber-optic measurement technology, integrated in our nano-indentation platform Pavone, makes it possible to measure visco-elastic properties of cells, 3D tissues and biomaterials at the scale the matters the most: the cell scale. The pre-aligned, pre-calibrated fiber-optic probes measure in standard sample carriers such as 96-well plates, in any liquid medium and without tedious alignment and calibration steps.
