Designing various things from graphics to put in broadcast episodes to Instagram posts for social media is something I really enjoy as a part of WTHS. As the social media manager, I get to put these skills to use quite often.
In WTHS, we try to do something special on social media for each holiday. This past Thanksgiving I decided that it would be neat for our Instagram followers to see what each staff member was thankful for. I designed this sheet that was printed and given to each student to fill out. I then created a series of collages to be posted as shown.
Social media and content creation have become a huge part of my life. In March of 2021, my family opened a women's boutique called Spring in Downtown Tupelo. I am in charge of running all the social media accounts for Spring, and it is truly becoming a passion of mine. Below are just a few of the many posts I have created for my family's business.
It is amazing for me to see how the skills I have learned while being a part of the WTHS staff are already helping me with life outside of school. There is no doubt that these abilities will be useful in my future career as I am planning to major in business at Mississippi State University. I hope to one day run my own boutique that has a brick and mortar location as well as an online platform.
