My name is Meredith Perkins and I am a writer based in Cincinnati, OH. I graduated with honors from Miami University in May 2025 with a B.A. in English: Creative Writing and a B.A. in Diplomacy & Global Politics.
My opinion writing, voted Best Editorial Writing in the Society of Professional Journalists Region 4 Mark of Excellence Awards in both 2024 and 2025, has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Cincinnati Enquirer, New York Times, Lexington Herald Leader, and the Cleveland Plain Dealer. Additionally, I served a senior editor of the Miami Political Review, Miami University's first student-run political magazine. In 2024, I served as an Opinion intern at the Cincinnati Enquirer.
As a creative writer, my recent publications include "The Office" in Glass Mountain and "Nineteen" in Short Vine Literary Magazine, a piece that received the Bookwalter Award for undergraduate creative writing. I enjoy coming-of-age stories, nonfiction rabbit holes, and anything else that sounds interesting.
On this website, I have compiled an archive of all my published writing and journalism in one convenient spot. Additionally, I have resources for my private essay consulting services listed under the "Consulting" tab for students interested in essay writing support.
