Emergent Issues
Montgomery County Crisis Center (tel.: 240-777-4000)
The Crisis Center provides free crisis services 24 hours a day/ 365 days a year.
No appointment required.
Services are provided by telephone (tel.: 240-777-4000) or in person at 1301 Piccard Drive in Rockville (click address for directions). The Mobile Crisis Team (MCT) provides emergency crisis evaluations for individuals who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Full crisis assessments and treatment referrals are provided for all crises, both psychiatric and situational.

Services provided by the MCFRS Mental Health Team are free of cost to MCFRS staff/volunteers and their immediate family members. MCFRS Mental Health Services are strictly confidential and are not associated with fitness for duty or return to work evaluations. Below you will find the MCFRS Mental Health Team contact information and we are available via call, text, or email.

If you would like to schedule an appointment, consult with one of the MCFRS mental wellness providers, or if you have any questions regarding mental health signs/symptoms*, please complete the form below. We will respond by the next business day (Mon - Fri; excludes holidays). If your concerns require immediate attention, please reference the "Emergent Issues" section above or contact the Peer Support & CISM Hotline (240-777-2277). Your responses are confidential and will only be seen by the MCFRS Mental Wellness Team.

Relationship Support Group for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service
Facilitated by the Mental Wellness Team, our Relationship Support Group provides a supportive environment for members to explore romantic relationships. Understanding the unique pressures faced by emergency services personnel, the group focuses on strategies for maintaining healthy relationships, enhancing communication, and balancing work-life demands.

When: 9 AM on the first and third Tuesday of each month (Beginning Tuesday 1/21/25)
Where: 2301 Research Blvd, Suite 106, Rockville, MD
Virtual Option: Available if you reside within Maryland state lines
Who: Open to MCFRS personnel and their families

Provides assistance for FRS members and their families with:
Connecting with different specialists (i.e. Neurologists, Psychiatrists, or other medical providers)
Finding a therapist outside of MCFRS (Use the External Clinician Referral Form to request this service)
Finding local support groups for various issues (i.e. cancer, Parkinson's, parenting issues, neurological issues, substance use, etc.)
Accessing various types of educational information regarding mental health issues
Release of Information Consent Form
Note: This form is used for providing your consent for other medical or mental health professionals and the MCFRS Mental Health Team to collaborate freely about your previous and/or current treatment.

Peer Support & Critical Incident Stress Management (PS-CISM) Team

4. The on-duty PS-CISM facilitator will be paged automatically, and should return your call within fifteen minutes.
Non-Crisis Peer Support
PS-CISM members can provide confidential support and resources for personal issues, work issues, depression, and PTSD.
