MenoWell Vallejo is dedicated to transforming the menopause experience through education, connection, and care. We aim to increase awareness, reduce stigma, and improve access to culturally responsive support for women in midlife, especially those from historically underserved communities. By meeting people where they are and centering their lived experiences, we work to ensure that every woman feels seen, informed, and supported through the menopause transition and beyond.
Menopause touches nearly every family, yet many people enter it unsure of what is normal, what is treatable, and how to get care. Symptoms can disrupt sleep, work, relationships, and long-term health. Stigma adds silence, and access to informed care is uneven across communities.
MenoWell Vallejo is a student-led effort to change that. We provide practical education, bilingual resources, and warm connections to trusted clinicians so people can make informed choices that fit their lives and values. By meeting people where they are—in community spaces and online—we aim to replace confusion with clarity and isolation with support.
Many people experience hot flashes, night sweats, sleep changes, mood shifts, brain fog, joint pain, and urogenital symptoms.
What we do
Explain what’s happening in the body in plain language
Teach symptom tracking so patterns become visible
Share evidence-based options: lifestyle tools, non-hormonal treatments, and hormone therapy basics
Offer practical routines for sleep, stress, sexual health, pelvic floor support, and bone health
Why it matters
Understanding the “why” behind symptoms turns guesswork into a plan and helps people know when to self-manage and when to seek care.
People are flooded with mixed messages about menopause.
What we do
Deliver concise, evidence-based lessons with take-home guides in English and Spanish
Curate a local resource directory and “questions to ask your provider” sheets
Build space for Q&A and peer learning
Why it matters
Accurate knowledge builds confidence, reduces fear, and helps people advocate for care that fits their goals.
Access to menopause-informed care is not equal. Cost, transportation, language, and limited OB/GYN services—especially in and around Vallejo—create real barriers. Midlife caregivers often put their own health last.
What we do
Bring free or low-cost education to community settings and online
Offer bilingual materials and interpretation
Listen first, then tailor content to culture, language, and lived experience
Why it matters
Closing access gaps improves quality of life now and reduces long-term risks for those most often left out of care.
Good care starts with a prepared patient and a supportive provider.
What we do
Share scripts for talking with clinicians about treatment options and follow-up
Explain how to find menopause-informed providers
Encourage partner and family involvement when helpful
Why it matters
Advocacy skills help people get answers faster, choose treatments that match their values, and stay engaged in their health over time.
