Welcome to the CoMICs Menopause hub—a dedicated space bringing together evidence-based, peer-reviewed educational videos on menopause in 21 different languages.
Our mission is simple: "A picture tells a thousand words." Research shows that we are likely to remember up to 6.5 times more through visual infographics than through text alone. By combining graphic illustrations with bite-sized video content, we transform complex medical information into accessible, engaging resources that can be understood by anyone, regardless of their background or primary language.
Navigating menopause often involves overcoming significant barriers, including medical jargon, social stigma, and a prevalence of misinformation online. For many, these challenges are compounded by language barriers.
To address this, the CoMICs (Concise Medical Information Cines) initiative has developed a multilingual suite of menopause videos. Originally created in English, these resources have been meticulously translated and reviewed by clinical experts and "experts by experience" to ensure scientific and linguistic accuracy.
Every CoMIC video is built on a foundation of quality and trust:
Evidence-Based: Content is based on the latest national and international clinical guidelines.
Expert Reviewed: Each video undergoes rigorous critical review by leading consultants and specialists in endocrinology and women’s health.
Global Accessibility: By providing these resources in languages including Polish, Serbian, Spanish, Turkish, and many more, we aim to combat health illiteracy and empower women globally to seek the support they need.
Bite-Sized Learning: We cover everything from symptoms and diagnosis to workplace accommodations and long-term management—all in less than 5 minutes.
Whether you are a woman experiencing menopause, a healthcare professional, a manager looking to support your team, or a family member seeking to understand more, these videos are for you.
The CoMICs initiative is a multidisciplinary collaboration involving medical students, junior doctors, and senior consultants from institutions such as the University of Birmingham. We believe that by making medical education more creative and user-friendly, we can foster a more inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
