Bowling - Friday afternoon Sports Group (2nd and 4th Fridays)

This is currently on hold at the moment.  Please see the newsletter for up to date information.

Games

3rd Wednesday of each month, Defiant Sports lead the sessions where we take part in a variety of games such as Boccia, curling, bowling etc. This is usually all completed while seated to make it easier to take part.  In April, being a five week month, we will be running a second Defiant Sports on the 5th Wednesday in place of singing.

Singing

1st, 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (and 5th Wednesday on the months which have five) We have a variety of singers who come in and lead these sessions. These are seated sessions but with the option of standing and having a dance along to if desired!

Meet & Greet Saturday Club

The Saturday Club has started up again!  We will be meeting at the hall on 3rd Saturday of the month, where you can enjoy a homemade soup lunch and play some table games and activities. (In December this will be the Christmas party in place of the Saturday club)

Allotment

Sessions can be booked by ringing Deb on 07393 834498. If you like to do a bit of planting, watering etc, please let us know. Now the warmer weather is near us, we plan to go for a couple of hours alternate Sunday mornings at around 11am.  Please let Deb know if you'd like to join so that you can be added to a watts app group.

Friends of Memory Lane Eastbourne

A new group for people no longer caring for a loved one, our dedicated volunteers or current carers who would like to meet up with others. We will meet in a variety of venues for a chat and hopefully cake!!

Cinema

Towner Cinema, Eastbourne

The next relaxed screening will be 'The Magic Faraway Tree' on Wednesday 8th April at 1pm.  Carers are free and everyone else £5.00.  You can book your seats online or at the reception ask on the day but remember to get there early in case there is a queue!

David Attenborough's 100th Birthday

We are holding a birthday party to celebrate Sir David Attenborough turning 100!  It is on Saturday 9th May (the day after his actual birthday) from 2pm to 4pm in Christ the King church hall. . We have arranged for someone to bring some exotic animals, both for us to see, learn about and perhaps handle. They are also bringing along their golden retriever for thosewho prefer a softer creature to make a fuss of.  Following this we will enjoy some party food!

Coach outing - Drusillas Zoo

Continuing the animal theme, on Thursday 4th June we are planning a coach outing to Drusillas Zoo. We will leave Christ the King Church Hall at 11am and then return from Drusillas on the coach leaving at 4pm.  We will have a drink on arrival and then lunch together (main meal, ice cream and a drink). In between you are free to enjoy looking at the animals and having a ride on the train if you decide to!  We will need numbers for this outing and also menu choices which I will be circulating around.
