MemoryInk - Privacy Policy

Overview
MemoryInk is a private, local-first journal app. Your photos never
leave your device. We collect the minimum data necessary to make
the app work and improve it.

1. What We Collect
a) Data stored only on your device (never transmitted)
- Your photos and voice memos
- Mood selections
- Journal notes
- AI-generated narratives (cached locally)
b) Data sent to our AI service (text only, no photos)
When you request an AI narrative or weekly recap, we send:
- Your written note (if any)
- Your mood selection
- Scene description labels generated on your device
We do NOT send: photos, GPS coordinates, EXIF data, or your identity.
This data is processed via our secure server proxy and is not stored
by the AI provider beyond the request.
c) Premium users — cloud sync (optional)
If you subscribe to MemoryInk Premium and enable sync, we store
in Supabase (our cloud provider):
- Mood, date, note text, and narrative text for each memory
- File path references (not the photos themselves)
- Your account identifier (from Sign in with Apple or email)
Photos are never synced or uploaded.
d) Analytics
We use Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., "memory
created", "recap viewed") to understand how people use the app.
No personally identifiable information is attached to these events.
e) Subscription management
We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect
your Apple-assigned subscriber ID and purchase history.

2. How We Use Your Data
- To generate AI narratives and recaps on your behalf
- To sync your journal across your devices (Premium only)
- To process and manage your subscription
- To improve the app through anonymous analytics

3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third
parties except:
- Supabase (cloud infrastructure, EU/US data centers)
- OpenAI via our proxy (text metadata only, per request)
- RevenueCat (subscription management)
- Mixpanel (anonymous analytics)

4. Data Retention
- Local data: stays on your device until you delete the app
- Cloud data (Premium): retained until you delete your account
- AI requests: not stored beyond the duration of the request
- Analytics: retained per Mixpanel's standard retention policy

5. Your Rights
You may request deletion of your account and all associated cloud
data at any time by emailing thanhthu89200@gmail.com or using the
Delete Account option in Settings. We will fulfill deletion
requests within 7 days.

6. Children's Privacy
MemoryInk is not directed at children under 13 and we do not
knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The "Last updated"
date at the top will always reflect the current version.
