Why I started this project ?

Hi ! My name is Eden and I am the founder of Meliora. I understood that my friends knew very little about the situations around the world. So, I created this website to allow any individual to be educated about the things a country or city is facing without scrolling through hundreds of paragraphs.

What is my goal ?

My goal is to inform people about a crisis going on around the world in less than 3 minutes so we can act quickly and help out.

Background

During the summer I took a Harvard course called Humanitarian Response to Conflict and Disaster. Hearing the workers in the humanitarian field tell their stories really fascinated me. The way they go out to the biggest disasters, help out people and put a smile on them was so captivating and heartwarming.

Meliora

Meliora comes from Latin. The definition of the word is "better things". The reason I chose this name was because I want to make people aware that we can make things better by coming together and fighting for what is right.
