About Us
The Melbourne Howlers Full Moon Hash House Harriers are a group of cross-country runners who enjoy getting out of the suburban area into the Australian bush to explore bushland and enjoy a great run within a drive of one hour from the Melbourne CBD.
We follow the running traditions of the original Malaysian Hash House Harriers with some minor modifications.
The Run
Runs are set on the Sunday nearest the full moon and commence at 3.00 p.m. in winter and at 4.00 p.m. during daylight saving time.
The duration of the run is about one to one and a half hours and the run can also be walked.
What You Need to Bring
Please bring all your own precooked food or fresh food to cook on the BBQ. Also bring your own plates and cutlery, and your own cooking implements.
Also please bring your own drinking mug and personal drinks and drinks to contribute to the Grogmaster for any charges that may be brought against miscreants.
Also folding chairs unless advised otherwise.
Guidelines
The runs will be held on the Sunday nearest to the full moon
The runs will all be in open country or parks in a bushland setting
All are welcome and there are no fees
The hare will provide the BBQ facilities, either public or private
All food and drink will be BYO
The runs will be family friendly and hash songs will be sung

If you choose to run with us, you must agree and accept that the MHFMHHH Committee, the hare(s) duly appointed by the Committee, and the owners of the land and property where the run will take place will take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and well being of the participants, but accept no liability for any injury, damage or loss, however these may occur. You will also not hold the committee, its members or any affiliated person(s) responsible for any accident, loss, damages or injury sustained by yourself before, during or after the run.

The next Full Moon Run is Run no 303on Sunday 4 January, 2026 from Ironbark Gorge, Ironbark Road, Werribee Gorge State Park, Melway Page 7 B5 . The run will start at 4:00pm.
The hare for this run is John (Klingon) Perkins who advised this will be a challenging bush run, including a river crossing. There will also be a shorter and easier walk. There are no facilities at the site, so circle will be held after the run before adjourning to Flanagan’s Border Inn Hotel in Bacchus Marsh for dinner. Bring your own drinks because you will need them after the run.
The forecast for Sunday is a partly cloudy day in the twenties with the possibility of an afternoon shower.
Directions – Take the Western Highway and exit at the second Bacchus Marsh turnoff into Grant Street. Follow Grant Street approx. 2.5 km and turn right at the roundabout into Griffiths Street. Follow Griffiths Street for about 2km to the second roundabout and continue straight ahead onto McCormacks Road with the Golf Course on the left. After a further 2km pass under the rail bridge, turn right into Ironbark Road and follow for about 6km to the car park on the right.
