About Us
The Melbourne Howlers Full Moon Hash House Harriers are a group of cross-country runners who enjoy getting out of the suburban area into the Australian bush to explore bushland and enjoy a great run within a drive of one hour from the Melbourne CBD.
We follow the running traditions of the original Malaysian Hash House Harriers with some minor modifications.
The Run
Runs are set on the Sunday nearest the full moon and commence at 3.00 p.m. in winter and at 4.00 p.m. during daylight saving time.
The duration of the run is about one to one and a half hours and the run can also be walked.
What You Need to Bring
Please bring all your own precooked food or fresh food to cook on the BBQ. Also bring your own plates and cutlery, and your own cooking implements.
Also please bring your own drinking mug and personal drinks and drinks to contribute to the Grogmaster for any charges that may be brought against miscreants.
Also folding chairs unless advised otherwise.
Guidelines
The runs will be held on the Sunday nearest to the full moon
The runs will all be in open country or parks in a bushland setting
All are welcome and there are no fees
The hare will provide the BBQ facilities, either public or private
All food and drink will be BYO
The runs will be family friendly and hash songs will be sung

If you choose to run with us, you must agree and accept that the MHFMHHH Committee, the hare(s) duly appointed by the Committee, and the owners of the land and property where the run will take place will take all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and well being of the participants, but accept no liability for any injury, damage or loss, however these may occur. You will also not hold the committee, its members or any affiliated person(s) responsible for any accident, loss, damages or injury sustained by yourself before, during or after the run.

31st May 2026. Hares Leave a Tip & Punch. Location - Plenty Gorge
The next Full Moon Run is Run #308 this coming Sunday 31 May, 2026 from the Blue Lake Car Park, Plenty Gorge, Plenty. Melway 10 F5. The run will start at 3:00pm.
The hares for this run are Brian (Leave a Tip) Maneikis and Judy (Punch) Leckie.
There are BBQ’s, shelter and toilets at the site. The hares will supply bread and salad etc, but bring your own drinks and meat to cook on the BBQ. The forecast for Sunday is a partly cloudy day in the mid teens with the chance of a light shower.
To get to the run site follow the Greensborough bypass (route 46) which becomes Diamond Creek Road at the big roundabout and turn left into Yan Yean Rd (route 57). Follow Yan Yean Road about 1km and then turn left onto Memorial Drive until it basically ends after about 2km. Then turn left onto Goldsworthy Lane and keep on following the lane until it ends at the car park. If the car park is full, there are other car parks you will pass on the way. Follow signs for toilets to the right to get to the area with barbecues.
