Below is a creative chart of possible participants and research questions for my Final Research Paper. After careful consideration, I decided to study adult typically-developed (TD) siblings of individuals with disabilities. I chose this group because it's often overlooked by researchers and the general public; also, I'm a part of this community. I sent my survey through two private Facebook groups that I'm an active member of: SibNet (ages 18-90) and Sib 20 (ages 18-30). It's a very personal topic of interest - to me and to other TD sibs, evident through over 80 responses to my survey within 3 days of distribution.
While the information provided in each gear box was easy to formulate, the creative design of this assignment took a while. I found that the visual charts provided by Microsoft Word were very aggravating to use and are not user friendly. Next time I need to create a creative visual, I'll use a different template provided through Google Drive or another website. Regarding context, this assignment's goal was to help me examine all possible groups I could study that were of interest to me. Honestly, going into this class I knew I would study adult siblings of individuals with disabilities for my final research project so this assignment didn't help me in any way. But I see the usefulness in this assignment for others who are struggling to decide between two population groups.
I did not revise any aspect of this assignment.
