About Me

Hi, I’m Megan, a PhD researcher at the Centre for Agroecology, Water and Resilience (CAWR) at Coventry University. 

My research explores how urban trees support biodiversity and provide ecosystem services in Coventry. I use bioacoustic monitoring to study birds and bats, alongside invertebrate and vegetation surveys. I also investigate how Coventry's residents value and experience the city's trees.

Together, my research aims to improve understanding of the ecological and cultural importance of urban trees and their contribution to sustainable, resilient cities. My PhD is part-funded by Coventry City Council and is due for completion in spring 2027.

I graduated from Coventry University in 2022 with a BSc (Hons) in Geography before completing an MRes at CAWR. My MRes research explored the concept of 'naturalness' in Natural Flood Management.
