Do you let fashion define who you are or how it appears on you? In this podcast, I will analyze an article written by Isis Davis-Marks called “Met Gala asks what is American fashion and who gets to define it”. In this article it talks about how there's many brands out there that have set a tone for the national industry. From the article it says that “This…exhibition considers how fashion reflects evolving nations of identity in America and explores a multitude of perspectives through presentations that speak with powerful immediacy to some of the complexities of history. In looking at the past through this lens, we can consider the aesthetic and cultural impact of fashion on historical aspects of American life”. Therefore every person in the Met Gala event might have a reason or a background story for the way they are dressed or how some outfits might have been picked out for them. Do you think they feel forced on what they wear or what they wanna wear might not typically be other peoples type of fashion? Why should there even be a problem for who you are and what you do?
