Submission Instructions

Pre-recorded presentations:

  • All conference presentations (besides the plenary talks and workshops) will be pre-recorded and must meet the specifications listed below.

  • There are a number of recording software options for recording your presentation. Feel free to use a recording software that you are most comfortable using. We recommend Zoom and Microsoft Powerpoint as relatively easy options for presenters to use (instructions for both of these options below).

  • Presentations must be close to, but no more than 12 minutes in length.

  • After recording your presentation, export the video as at least a 720p (HD quality) .mp4 file and submit via email to midwestecoevoconference@gmail.com as an email attachment (via a cloud service such as OneDrive) or via a file sharing service (e.g. Google Drive).

  • Your pre-recorded video must be completed and submitted by: Friday, March 5, 2021 (end of the day).

  • During the conference, your video recording will be played live by a conference organizer during your specified presentation time. You will need to be present for a 3 minute Live Q&A session directly following your pre-recorded presentation.

Posters:

  • Posters can be created via a number of different software options, with the most common ones being Microsoft Powerpoint and Adobe Illustrator.

  • Posters must be saved in .pdf file format and emailed to midwestecoevoconference@gmail.com as an email attachment.

  • Posters must be completed and submitted by: Friday, March 12, 2021 (end of the day).

  • Posters will be uploaded to the conference website and will be viewable by attendees during the week prior to the conference.

  • During the conference, poster presenters will be assigned a specific breakout room during one of the Poster Sessions (see conference schedule). Poster presenters will interact virtually with attendees as they come and go freely in your breakout room. Presenters are encouraged to share the screen of your poster during these breakout sessions. However, the .pdf files will remain on the conference website so that attendees can view posters before and concurrently with the breakout rooms.

Please feel free to contact us (midwestecoevoconference@gmail.com) if you have any questions or concerns.
