With atmost pleasure,  we're announcing the beginning of a new campaign! Titled BUZZ OFF Malaria and Dengue Fever Campaign 🦟🤒

-Why malaria and dengue fever?

Malaria and dengue fever are two of the most prevalent mosquito-borne diseases in the world, causing widespread illness and death. In many countries, these diseases are a major public health burden, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions.

That being said, Sudan is going through an outbreak of both diseases, this campaign will provide you with knowledge about both of them and how to deal with them as well. 

-How Can The Online Campaign Help You? 🤔

Our online campaign aims to provide education, raise awareness, and promote preventive measures for these diseases.

This campaign leverage the power of the internet and social media platforms to reach a wide audience and engage them in the fight against malaria and dengue fever.

The entire month of October has been activated every year to raise awareness about breast cancer since 2006 AD, and it's known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month (also Pink October ) 🎀🩷.

During this tough time and for our health’s sake, we need the necessary awareness and accurate knowledge about this serious topic.

That's why we've made this campaign to raise awareness and we shall post a poster per day.

[IMP] [Psychological First Aid Initiative]

Dear LMO Presidents & MedSIN-Sudan Family,

I’m glad to connect with you again and I hope that my email finds you and your families safe during these challenging times.

During the unfortunate events that our country has been going through since the 15th of April a new concern has been raised, according to statistics that the World Health Organization (WHO) has done, around 10 percent of individuals who experience traumatic events will develop serious mental health problems, while another 10 percent may exhibit behavior that hinders their ability to function effectively. Depression, anxiety, and psychosomatic problems such as insomnia are among the most common effects. 

Here at MedSIN-RMSA, we have always considered mental health as one of our main priorities and we have been advocating for it. Therefore, we have been in communication with the top psychiatrists around the world since May to provide you with this initiative (Psychological First Aid Initiative). As part of the initiative, we are offering a translated course from the University of John Hopkins. The course aims to equip you with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide psychological first aid to patients & war survivors.

How to access the course?

- Simply join our Telegram channel at https://t.me/MedSINRMSA .

- We will be uploading a video from the course every two days, starting from Wednesday, 5/7/2023. 

- I encourage you to join the channel as soon as possible, as there are a total of nine videos in the course that you don't want to miss. 

Following the completion of the course, we will be opening a call for volunteers to apply what they have learned and effectively help during this challenging time that our country is facing so stay tuned for phase two.

What is a Small Working Group (SWG)?

Is a set of people selected for their expertise or experience to collaborate in order to return a result, or solve a problem within an organization or industry group. 

What is Organizing Committee (OC)?

Organizing Committee or "OC" means group of individuals appointed for the administration, conduct and perform certain tasks delegated to them in order  to achieve specific goals.

This is a highlight from our amazing surgical suture workshop that we conducted recently on the 19th of this month. Dr.Bishoy highlighted the importance, types, techniques of suturing, and further exciting information🦯🥼. And then the  fascinating part where we learnt how to sew the wounds which is this workshop's vision. We applied this skill on bananas🍌 and then we ate our hard work.

It was very nice and enjoyable living this experience with you pandas and we're looking to seeing you in more other activities.

I'm sure you've heard that someone has been subjected to any kind of violence because they are males or females, so what’s gender-based violence?

- Gender-based violence is violence directed against a person because of their gender or sex, which results in physical, sexual, or psychological harm. These acts violate an individual's human rights. Both women and men experience gender-based violence but the majority of victims are women and girls. It's the awaited camp YAYY🎉🎉
