WHAT IS MEDSIN-RMSA?

Medical Student International Network - Ribat Medical Student Association (MedSIN-RMSA) is a Local Member Organization that represents medical students from National Ribat University in MedSIN-Sudan.

BACKGROUND

It’s history goes back to 2005 which marked our LMO's creation & its joining with other six LMOs in bringing MedSIN-Sudan to light. It presented its membership candidature in MedSIN-Sudan’s 1st national general assembly which took place in Khartoum University in the same year. In addition, it hosted the 3rd national general assembly of MedSINSudan by the outstanding efforts of Dr. Ahmed Dawood dikhairi (1st President)& Dr. Ahmed A. Hakam, one the founding fathers & mentors of our LMO. MedSIN-RMSA has always been an essential part & a vital limb in supporting MedSIN-Sudan’s goals .As MedSIN-RMSA, we envision an atmosphere where passionate medical students can acquire the knowledge, skills & social network that’ll equip them for their future careers as physicians & health care professionals. By offering our members a variety of capacity building & community-based activities while providing the space for members of different backgrounds to exchange their ideas, thoughts & views, in the goal of enhancing their potentials to the maximum as future health leaders. All this, under the theme of quality & fun.

WHAT IS MEDSIN-SUDAN?

The Medical Students' International Network-Sudan (MedSIN-Sudan) is the official body that gathers the Sudanese medical students, organizes their activities and represents them nationally and internationally with all relative authorities and other organizations.

MedSIN-Sudan is recognized as the National Member Organization (NMO) for Sudanese medical students, in the International Federation of Medical Students' Associations (IFMSA), and it is a registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in the Humanitarian Aids Commission (HAC). It was founded in 1967, and It aims to creating medical students equipped with skills and knowledge to identify and develop solutions for the health issues of their community. MedSIN-Sudan is a group of motivated medical students active In Public health, medical education, human rights and peace, sexual and reproductive health and rights, professional and research exchange. Through this they educate them-selves and others about global and local health issues. This empowering organization offers Sudanese Medical students the opportunity of organizing and participating in different international, regional and national activities while it prepares them to be the healthcare leaders of tomorrow, a new generation of doctors who are equipped with the skills and knowledge to work in the ever-changing world.

WHAT IS IFMSA?

The International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA), founded in 1951, is one of the worlds oldest and largest student-run organisations. It represents, connects and engages every day with an inspiring and engaging network of 1.3 million medical students from 133 NMOs in 123 coco:untries around the globe.

VISION:

A world In which all medical students unite for global health and are equiped with the knowledge, skills and values to take on health leadership roles locally and globally.

MISSION:

IFMSA unites medical students worldwide to lead Initiatives that Impact positively the communities we serve. IFMSA represents the opinions and Ideas of future health professionals In the field of global health, and works In collaborations with external partners. IFMSA builds capacity through training, project and exchanges opportunities, while embracing cultural diversity so as to shape a sustainable and healthy future.
