How to make sure MedPet alarms work properly

Some Android manufacturers apply aggressive battery and background process optimizations that can prevent apps from running in the background, delaying or blocking alarms and notifications.  To ensure MedPet can run continuously in the background and deliver Reminders & Alerts on time, follow the steps below according to your device.

Google Pixel

  Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → select Unrestricted

2. Notifications → enable all notifications

3. Settings → Notifications → Do Not Disturb

   • Under Allowed apps, add MedPet

4. Settings → Battery → Battery Saver

   • Make sure it is turned off, or that MedPet is excluded

Samsung (One UI)

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → select Unrestricted

2. Notifications → enable all categories

3. Settings → Battery and device care → Battery

4. Background usage limits

   • Make sure MedPet is not listed under Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps
     
     

Motorola

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → select Unrestricted

2. Notifications → make sure all notifications are enabled

3. Settings → Battery

   • Disable any aggressive battery-saving modes
     
     

OnePlus (OxygenOS)

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery usage → Allow background activity

2. Enable Auto-launch

3. Notifications → enable all notifications

4. Settings → Battery → Battery Saver

   • Exclude MedPet
     
     

Sony (Xperia)

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → Unrestricted

2. Notifications → enable all

3. Settings → Battery → STAMINA mode

   • Make sure MedPet is excluded
     
     

ASUS (Zenfone / ROG – ZenUI)

1. Settings → Battery → Power management

2. Add MedPet to the list of non-optimized apps

3. Settings → Apps → MedPet

   • Enable Auto-start

   • Enable all notifications

LG

Settings → Battery → Battery saver

1. Battery saver exceptions

2. Add MedPet

3. Settings → Apps → MedPet

   • Enable all notifications

Nothing (Nothing OS) 

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → select Unrestricted

2. Notifications → enable all notifications

3. Settings → Glyph Interface (Optional: If you want visual alerts, ensure MedPet is not silenced here).

Nokia (HMD Global)

Settings → Apps → MedPet

1. Battery → select Unrestricted

2. Settings → Battery → Adaptive Battery → Ensure MedPet is not being restricted by the adaptive learning feature.

⚙️ Universal settings (all devices)

1️⃣ Alarm permissions

• Settings → Apps → MedPet

• Alarms & reminders → Allow
  
  

2️⃣ Notifications

• Settings → Apps → MedPet → Notifications

• Enable Allow notifications

• Make sure the “Reminders & Alerts ” notification channel is set to:

  • High priority or Urgent

  • Sound enabled and allowed to appear on screen
    
    

3️⃣ Do Not Disturb mode

• Settings → Notifications → Do Not Disturb

• Under App exceptions, add MedPet

• Or disable Do Not Disturb when alarms are needed
