Our chapter mission
MEDLIFE at UH has a mission to spread awareness of global health and MEDLIFE's mission through educational meetings, volunteer events, and fundraising events. Our campus chapter also participates in volunteer trips abroad, taking volunteers from the University of Houston campus to mobile clinics in Latin American countries.
As a chapter, we are able to have constant communication with staff in partnered communities abroad. Our chapter has raised over $7,943 to provide relief to communities in Peru, Ecuador, and Tanzania. Additionally, we are the first UH organization to host a virtual service-learning trip that allows students to earn 10-20 service hours, learn about sustainable healthcare, AND shadow local health professionals.
