Disappearing Virtual (Micro)Chapbook September - November in The Argyle! (My sci-fi poems!)
Hello!
I've been working on collecting all my work in one place so it's easy to find, which you can find here.
Not all of my work is online though! My hope is to share what I've written that is either not published online or was published in journals that are now defunct.
We're going to start out by looking at my work that was published in SAGINAW. This is a journal created and published by David Horton in Mainland in China.
Three poems were published in their twelfth issue in either 2023 or 2024 (forgive me, I can't remember and there's no year printed in the magazine that I can find).
I'm sharing one of those poems here as the other two have undergone a few changes since publication in hopes of making it into a collection in the future.
So many people tried to tell me it wasn't that bad in America, but, to be honest, the idea of my husband, someone who loves American pop culture and has worked so hard on his American accent, to potentially encounter blind hate to visit my family just felt like too much. Too much of a risk, too much to keep an eye out for, too much to try and prepare for.
We did eventually go back to the States to visit my family, but with the politics now today, I don't think I could return again with him and feel safe.
Anyway, that's my thought process for this piece.
I hope you like it!
