Disappearing Virtual (Micro)Chapbook September - November in The Argyle! (My sci-fi poems!)
Hey guys!
I’m very pleased to say (type?) that a small project I was working on is getting published as a Disappearing Virtual (Micro)Chapbook with The Argyle Literary Magazine!
Yayy! 🎉
This will be a selection of my sci-fi poems that I wrote earlier this year.
I’d wanted to write more outside of my usual real-life genre and decided to purposefully create a selection of poems based around the idea of a Galactic Herbarium. The challenge was to write 75 poems in a month, but I ended up with 52. From there I fixed ‘em up and started seeing what I could do with them.
The Disappearing Virtual (Micro)Chapbook will be up from September to November on The Argyle’s site, which I’ll post and share in…September.
Once the poems are gone, they’re gone.
There’s something beautiful about the idea of creative work being so temporary, but I’m also a bit sad that poems I quite like will only be available for a limited time. 🥲
Either way, it’s a new experience and I can say that I had a micro-chapbook published! Life is all about new experiences and sometimes those won’t be exactly as we would have liked, but it can be something we find positives in and use to grow from.
This publication does motivate me to try more new things. Writing sci-fi poetry was enjoyable and definitely something I look forward to doing again in the near future.
Maybe I should create a month of sci-fi poetry for myself?
A year of themed writing months doesn’t sound bad.
Best,
