Parents: participate online with your child!

If you are an undergraduate student who is interested in assisting with the lab's research, please see "Join the lab!"

The Meaning Lab online

How can the USC Meaning Lab conduct our research in a pandemic and even post-pandemic world? Our online studies are quite a bit like our in-lab studies, except it's just you playing short, fun games with your child! Often involving pictures or short animations of cute characters, our studies are designed to be interactive as well as informative about the nature of word and sentence meaning.

About the Lookit platform

MIT's Early Childhood Cognition Lab has created a platform called Lookit that allows researchers across the globe to bring their experiments home. Lookit allows your family to contribute to the science of how children learn, just by doing fun activities from the comfort of your home! By creating an account on Lookit, you can participate in studies offered by our lab and many others!

How to participate

You can sign up for a Lookit account, and choose to participate in the Meaning Lab's current studies. Presently, that means searching for "Monkey Events" on Lookit; if your child meets our eligibility criteria, you can participate right away! Following your participation, you'll receive a $10 Tango gift card on behalf of your child as a small gift, and you can participate in other studies, too!
